Competition
Chinese Pine Faced Poplar Core Plywood – It may not be FSC certified.
Poplar has inferior strength and no resistance whatsoever to fungal decay (rot).
It is constructed with very thin face veneers (0.18mm) which reduce price but are easily damaged. It can also have poor quality core veneers. Adhesion of thin face veneer can be loosened by ‘hot melt’ application like bitumen
It is suitable for dry interior use only and frequently not tested for structural use.
EN636-1, EN314-2 Bond class 1 – Suitable for dry interior use only.
