Film Faced Plywood

Waterproof Plywood
All our birch plywood is sanded on both sides and composed of 1,4 mm thick veneers by cross bonding. Face veneers can be both long grain and cross grain. Advantage of long grain, if it is laid with long age parallel to the span (perpendicular to supports), is so called “strong orientation” sheet of plywood has more plies with the grain running perpendicular to supports.
Plywood is glued with phenolic resin adhesive.
Formaldehyde emission level shall not exceed 0.2 mg HCHO/m2h, which meets the standard E1.

B – The highest quality plywood, sanded, with no discoloration and external defects, for painting
BB – High-quality plywood, sanded, with only minor trim and healthy knots, varnishing and painting
CP – The standard quality plywood, sanded, larger defects, corrected insertions, more defects than in the class BB
WG – The lower grade plywood, larger defects, corrected insertions
C – The lowest grade plywood, uncut, holes and knots
Determined above quality grades affects only exterior veneer and do not affect the strength parameters of the plywood.

Film Faced Plywood
Laminated plywood is made of birch plywood covered with a layer of waterproof phenolic or melamine film (one or both sides). The edges of the plywood are coated with acrylic paint of natural color to prevent moisture penetration.
Laminated plywood surface is glossy, smooth, hard and easy to clean. Is resistant to abrasion and protects the plywood from moisture and chemicals commonly used.
Plywood is glued with phenolic resin adhesive.
Formaldehyde emission level shall not exceed 0.2 mg HCHO/m2h, which meets the standard E1.

OVERLAYING
The outer protective coating is applied under high temperature and high pressure. Coat base consists of a layer of paper impregnated with resin (phenolic or melamine).
Usually used density of the coating is 120 g/m2. Plywood may be covered with the films of a density 167 g/m2, 220 g/m2, 440 g/m2 or 600 g/m2.

Antyslip laminated plywood
Antislip plywood is made of birch plywood covered with a layer of waterproof phenolic film. The wear side has a rough wire mesh pattern the reverse side is smooth (standard). The edges of plywood are sealed with acrylic paint (according to BFU 100) to prevent it from water penetration. The wire mesh surface has high wear resistance and anti – slip properties. The standard colour of phenol film is brown but there are also other colours available on clients request.
Plywood is glued with phenolic resin adhesive.
Formaldehyde emission level shall not exceed 0.2 mg HCHO/m2h, which meets the standard E1.

OVERLAYING
The panels are overlaid with a phenol film and have a wire mesh pattern imprinted during hot pressing process. During this process a wire-mesh antislip pattern is also applied.
Usually used density of the coating is 120 g/m2, it is also possible to cover the plywood with a film of density 220 g/m2, 440 g/m2 or 600 g/m2, and covering of one side with double-layer film with wire-mesh pattern, and single layer on the other side.
AVAILABLE NON-SLIP SURFACES
Standard antislip pattern applied is RIGA TEX grid. In addition, the following prints are available to apply:
RIGA HEKSA, PATTERN RIGA, RIGA FOOT, Rhomb RIGA, RIGA MESH SMOOTH.

100% birch plywood that meets key requirements of the engineered flooring producers. Available in two grades:
STANDARD
Industry-standard grade for engineered flooring production. Features WBP glue, tight thickness tolerance, optimum moisture level and packaging, retaining the original moisture content of each panel.
It allows the parquet producer to minimize production costs and provides stability to the engineered construction.
PREMIUM
In addition to meeting the key industry requirements features superior bonding strength (internal bond strength test results ≥1.75 MPa). This is achieved by using only solid veneers with minimum defects for both outer and inner layers.
For the engineered flooring producers who require ultimate quality.

Birch plywood (Riga Ply) overlaid with a film on both faces. The wear face has a smooth wire mesh pattern (WH); the reverse normally is smooth, although it can have wire mesh pattern, too. Riga Smooth Mesh wire mesh overlay is decorative and resists hard wear.

Plywood Riga Prime
Birch plywood (Riga Ply or Riga Paint) overlaid with a primer on one or both faces, thus plywood surface is ready to be painted.
It facilitates painting operations and requires less paint. Suitable for exterior or interior application painted as well as unpainted.

APPLICATIONS
Riga Prime can be used as painted as well as unpainted for floors, walls, and ceilings, as packing material and in the manufacture of components of various sizes and shapes.
Plywood Riga Preprime
Birch plywood overlaid on one or both faces with a preprimed painting film ready for painting, without further priming or other preparations.
The panel is overlaid with a preprimed painting paper and glue film during hot-pressing process. The total surface weight (depending on the applied films) is 350-400 g/m2. It is possible to have such overlay (PRE/PRE) on both faces or a painting paper on one face and a phenol film on the reverse face, or a painting paper on one face and the reverse face of raw plywood in various qualities.

Plywood Riga Poliform
Birch plywood overlaid with a special composite material on both faces.
The composite material is made of wood fibres and polypropylene. The overlay is glued with C4 class glues according to the standard EN 12765 requirements. The thickness of the overlay is 1.6 mm.
The surface is glossy or mat.
The surface of this material resists well against various kinds of damages. After use, the panels release well and maintain their performance for a long time.
Moisture absorption inferior to 1.8% translates to excellent weather resistance.
The UV-resistance of the HPL-overlay is from average to good.
The panels can be used within a temperature range from -40°C up to +80°C.

Plywood Riga Ply
Birch plywood sanded on both the faces. Birch plywood has a wide range of application. Plywood is composed of 1.4 mm thick veneers by cross bonding. Riga Ply is the basis for all other types of plywood products.
GRADES
B (I) – for high quality painting, staining and lacquering.
S (II) – for good quality painting, staining and lacquering.
BB (III) – for interior paint finish and coating with transparent and non-transparent thicker overlays and films, and also veneering.
WG (IV) – for use where surface appearance is not important, reverse grade.
WGE is WG grade plywood where all open defects – splits, knot holes, intergrown knots with splits, peeling defects, imprints and holes are repaired with putty. Unsanded areas are not permitted.

Plywood Riga Paint
Birch plywood (Riga Ply) overlaid with a painting film on the wear face or both the faces (P/P), providing a panel surface suitable for painting. Riga Paint plywood does not crack during interior and exterior application.
OVERLAY
The panel is overlaid with a painting paper and glue film in a hot-pressing process. The total surface weight (depending on the applied films) is 350 – 400 g/m2. It is possible to have such overlay (P/P) on both faces or a painting paper on one face and a phenol film on the reverse face, or a painting paper on one face and the reverse face of raw plywood in various qualities.

Plywood Riga Composite
Birch plywood overlaid on one or both faces with a special material or such a material is used as a core to improve mechanical properties or visual appearance of plywood.
OPTIONS
Riga Composite PPL
PPL is 0,15 mm grey (RAL 7045), white (RAL 9016) or black (RAL 9005) slightly textured polypropylene overlay for indoor use.
PPL 0,65 mm for outdoor use white (RAL 9016) or black (RAL 9005) slightly textured polypropylene overlay.
Riga Composite PPL is flexible and can be applied in horse trailer walls, lining of trailer walls and ceiling, shop and warehouse fitting.
Riga Composite TPO is grey (RAL 7000), thermoplastic, textured polyolefin overlay. It is flexible, wear resistant, does not crack, resistant to chemicals and UV.
Riga Composite TPO is applied in van and tent shed floors.
Riga Composite ALU – Plywood with aluminium surface.
Riga Composite CPL – Plywood overlaid with CPL (Continous Pressure Laminate).

Product description
Exterior plywood coated with phenolic film (so-called shuttering plywood) has wide application properties, e.g. in construction as an element of shuttering systems. It is made by pressing paper saturated with phenolic resin (called phenolic film) on a surface of exterior plywood. The surface coated with the film protects the sheets from moisture and improves their resistance to abrasion. Edges of shuttering plywood are protected with waterproof acrylic paint.

Basic information about product
Plywood is composed from thin layers of wood veneer that are glued together with adjacent layers having their wood grain rotated up to 90 degrees to one another. Exterior plywood is covered on one or both sides with phenolic film which protects the surface from moisture as well as ensures higher durability, weather and abrasion resistance.

EPS Poland Sp. z o.o. offers various kinds of birch plywood and film faced poplar plywood. All products are carefully selected and comes from the proven suppliers. Years of cooperation with plywood mills and our experience is a guarantee of the highest quality products and service for our partners. Every product is provided with quality certificate and guarantee of the producer. We offer plywood designed for shuttering (concrete systems), scaffoldings, floor of the trailers, packing, frames of the furniture and many others. Glue
Waterproof plywood is produced using an adhesive that meets the following standards:
EN 314 / 3 rd class;
BS1203 / H4 (previously WBP);
DIN 68705 Part 3 / type BFU 100.
Other parameters
Formaldehyde emission: E½
Moisture: (10±2)% according to EN 315, measured according to EN 322.
Density: 680 – 700 kg/m³
Phenol film, dark brown, weight 120 g/m². Different colors and film weights are available on request. Wear resistance of the surface demands on the film weight and can be presented as the following:
120 g/m² – 400 rotations according to Taber test (EN 438-2)
220 g/m² – 750 rotations according to Taber test (EN 438-2)

Exotrade shuttering plywood
Types
Birch Film Faced Plywood
High quality plywood intended for multiple use in formwork, throughout Birch or Combi core (Birch + Pine) density 670-720 kg/m3, bonded with water resistant adhesive on the base of phenol-formaldehyde resin, covered with phenolic usually dark brown film with density 120-220 gr/m2, edges are sealed with acrylic paint. Available in wide range of sizes and thicknesses. Perfect for reusable wall and frame formwork systems.

Poplar shuttering plywood
Depending on the adhesive applied for a single or multiple use. Poplar wood core 500kg/m3 density glued with phenolic or melamine adhesives. Most often covered with a black film with density 120gr/m2. Standard size1250x2500mm, 21mm thick. Commonly used in ceiling formwork and as additional cut to size fragments.

Exotrade shuttering plywood
Intermediate quality product between Poplar and Birch plywood. More reusable than Poplar plywood but less than Birch. Eucalyptus and Rubberwood core, glued with melamine based adhesive, film density 125 gr/m2, 13 layers. Thickness 21mm,sizes: 1250x2500mm / 622x2500mm.

PPL Plywood
coated with durable polypropylene overlay specially designed for extreme conditions where extended lifespan and higher ware resistance needed. Throughout Birch with density 720 kg/m3, bonded with water resistant adhesive on the base of phenol-formaldehyde resin – bonding quality acc. to EN 314-2 Class 3. Wear resistance: Taber value 13 000 – 17 000 R depending on the coating (EN 483-2).
